That's Rhythm Groove Records
Groove Records wurde 1954 als Sublabel der Majorcompany RCA gegründet mit dem Ziel in den lukrativen Rhythm & Blues Markt einzusteigen. Gegen etablierte Platten-Firmen wie Atlantic, Specialty oder Chess konnte sich das neue Label jedoch nicht durchsetzten und wurde 1957 wieder eingestellt.
Bear Family hat jetzt zwei Compilations mit Songs von Groove Records veröffentlicht: “Groovin the Blues” und “Rockin the Groove”. Etwa die Hälfte der Titel sind Erstveröffentlichungen, die im Archiv entdeckt wurden und nun zum ersten Mal zu hören sind.
