Man hat bei “The Very Best” das richtige Händchen für die entsprechenden Gäste, auf dem letzten Album waren es ja M.I.A. und Vampire Weekend, jetzt ist also K’Naan mit dabei zusammen mit den Vertretern aus Mali und dem Senegal: Baaba Maal sowie Amadou & Mariam. Das Ganze dann noch ziemlich poppig produziert. Das geht sogar soweit, daß Songschreiber Bruno Mars einen Titel beigesteuert hat. Ein tolles Album mit schönen dubbigen Tracks, aber schnellen Nummern – für alle Fans von traditionellem, aber auch von progressivem Afropop.
