Die neue Cd aus der Reihe „Inspiration Information“ featured den großen Äthiopier Astatke.
Sein endlos verwobenes Band aus Latin, Afro, Funk, Modern Jazz und äthiopischer Folklore entwickelt einen vielschichtigen Groove, der so kleinteilig wie ozeanisch ist.
Astatkes Musik kann man auf dem Soundtrack zu Jim Jarmuschs "Broken Flowers" und auf der Compilation "Ethiopiques Vol. 4" hören. Jetzt hat er sich mit den „Heliocentrics“ zusammengetan.
Außerdem: Edits und Remixe für Miriam Makeba, Nat King Cole und Marvin Gaye.
