Neben Boom Bap und Gangsta Rap hat kaum ein Subgenre den Sound des Hip-Hop in den 90er Jahren so geprägt wie der 1992 von Dr. Dre popularisierte G-Funk. Diese Ausgabe von Sounds Outta Range widmet sich hauptsächlich weniger bekannten Künstler*innen mit zum Teil exzentrischeren Interpretationen des G-Funk-Genres.
