Das Phonometrics Mixtape beschäftigt sich diesen Monat mit dem Verhältnis von Lyrik und Popmusik. Dabei stehen weniger die Songtexte als Form der Lyrik im Vordergrund, sondern vielmehr das Spannungsfeld zwischen geschriebenen Wort und seiner Vertonung. Von William S. Burroughs Vertonung einer Gedichtes von Bertolt Brecht bis hin zu Sonic Youth’s Hommage an Gregory Corso und Godspeed You Black Emperor’s epochalen Dead Flag Blues legen wir dabei beachtliche Strecken zurück.
Mit dabei sind außerdem Silver Mt. Zion, Die Goldenen Zitronen, Matmos, The Doors, Leonard Cohen, The Fugs und Electrelane.
