Flashback Juni 1993 / Urge Overkill
Am 8. Juni 1993 veröffentlichen Urge Overkill ihr essentielles Album "Saturation". Während andernorts noch die Flanellhemden aufgetragen werden, schüttet das Trio aus Chicago den Grunge-Jüngern frisch gepressten Rock-Nihilismus ins Cocktailglas.
Die Band trägt Silbermedaillons mit Bandlogo, ein persönlicher Designer schneidert für Ed "King" Roeser, National "Nash" Kato und Blackie Onassis die Bühnenklamotten, mal sind es Anzüge, dann wieder skurrile Polohemden mit Bullaugen-Dekolletée. Ihr Sound ist ein knalliges 70s-Rock-Update mit Ausflügen Richtung Funk, Punk und Westcoast.
Wir stellen die Platte vor, spielen weitere UO-Klassiker und bringen Zeitgenossen wie Smashing Pumpkins, Liz Phair, PJ Harvey und Big Black zu Gehör.
