All Samples Cleared!? The Choice Is Yours!
Die Native Tongues revolutionierten Ende der 80er die Außendarstellung des HipHop indem sie unter anderem auf all die Goldketten verzichteten. Stattdessen trugen sie fröhlich-bunte Gewänder. Vor allem De La Soul läuteten das Daisy Age ein, Gänseblümchen statt Goldketten. Zu den Native Tongues gehörten diverse Crews, unter anderem A Tribe Called Quest und Black Sheep.
Diese beiden Projekte sind sozusagen Ausgangspunkt der heutigen Reise, in deren Verlauf wir auch so unterschiedlichen Künstlern wie Big Daddy Kane, Boogie Down Productions, Portishead, Freddie Hubbard, Super Cat, Shades Of Brown, Sweet Linda Divine oder den Olympic Runners begegnen.
